Early one Friday morning in August, I looked out over the Shannon Estuary from my kitchen window, I saw this boat leaving the safety of the estuary and heading out to sea, with an orange wind warning forecast for later in the day, Storm Betty was on the way, I took a quick photo of the boat, thinking was it brave of them or was it a dangerous decision? The lifeboat was out to rescue a yacht later that day.... like a writer with a good story to be written I had to capture the moment the only way I know how, that's in oils and on canvas. 24" x 32" / 60.9 x 81.2 cm
